Poem: Love Deception

Pierce the aura of deception,

peel back the cover of lies,

Identify the person you meet,

watch out for enticing eyes.

Underneath their skin of beauty,

behind those cunning pupils,

Exists a person with an agenda,

who may not share your scruples.

It’s difficult to battle lust,

even harder to stop love.

Emotions are not something,

that are easily disposed of.

So, the battle continues,

feelings overrule doubt

We defer to the heart,

throwing common sense out.

Goodbye to education,

and warnings from a friend,

We enter a romantic encounter,

only envisioning a happy end.
