Poem: I’m Sorry

How many times have you heard, I’m sorry,

probably as often as the night sky is starry?

Is it merely two words, or does it have meaning,

a sincere attempt at behavior spring cleaning?

Does the person have remorse or is it lip service,

or might their actions, make them a bit nervous?

Will uttering a simple “sorry,” heal a wound,

or should an apology be polished or fine-tuned?

If someone apologizes to you, will you forgive,

is that the way, you have chosen to live?

Next time someone tries to make amends,

will you turn away or embrace them as friends?

“For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.” – Matthew 6:14-15 (KJV)
