When you’ve been gone for a while, can you ever go home,
have things changed or remained the same?
Will people accept you, on your return to a familiar place,
or is your reception based on past failures or fame?
Can you handle the changes in other people,
better than the way you faced them yourself?
Are your failures forever buried in the Mariana Trench,
or only temporarily hidden, on the continental shelf?
Only time will tell, how you will be welcomed,
if you will be met at the airport by friends and kin.
Perhaps, they will warmly embrace you with love,
or you will stand alone, cursed by past sin.
“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” – Matthew 11:28-30 (KJV)
