Poem: Defining Trust

We trust someone will catch us,

when we’re delivered into this life.

A baby can face injury or death,

without a trained doctor or midwife.

*

We trust in parents and teachers,

to ensure our children are safely raised.

Sometimes we tend to dismiss them,

or they’re criticized, not praised.

*

We trust that someone will stay with us,

in the days before we pass away.

A person to console and hold our hand,

to share words of peace, to pray.

*

But, most of all we trust in the LORD,

Creator, caregiver, Savior, and guide.

Who stays with us every second,

Jesus will never leave our side.

***

Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the Lord, and depart from evil. It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones.” – Proverbs 3:5-8 (KJV)

don't fear
