What is Love?

Love is cuddling your precious baby,

holding them close and tight.

Especially when they’ve been crying,

keeping you awake the entire night.

Love is pretending to be happy,

when your mother-in-law is in town.

Even if she drives you crazy,

you hide that you’re feeling down.

Love is keeping your objections quiet,

not letting your true feelings show.

When your twenty-year old daughter,

is infatuated with a forty-year old beau.

Love is when you say you like a gift,

from your child on your birthday.

This is despite hating the thought,

of wearing that bright purple beret.

Love is saying the food tastes good,

even though your spouse can’t cook.

It is also not giving into the desire,

of buying her a how-to book.

Love is different to each of us,

more than is said this poetic way.

Uncover reasons for your sweetheart,

and share them on Valentine’s Day
